Is higher education an art or a science?  In a recent opinion piece at the New York Times, respected scholar Stanley Fish observes the ways in which the latter position is ascending in American society, especially with the advent of online education—with potentially troubling consequences that even its advocates admit.

Geoffrey Reiter (Associate Editor) is Professor and Coordinator of Literature at Lancaster Bible College. He holds a BA in English from Nyack College and a PhD in English from Baylor University, along with an MA in Church History from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
