Man Knows Not His Time
Writer J.D. Salinger, author of “Catcher in the Rye,” passed away in his home in New Hampshire. He was 91. For a long time he had been essentially a recluse, not giving interviews and not publishing.

Many authors are primarily cheered for what is, essentially, not their best work (cf. Vonnegut and Slaughterhouse Five). How many of you feel that Catcher was Salinger’s best? And if not, what is your preference?
